Post Sale Update: After being relisted, this Spitfire Scrambler sold for $8,500 after 27 bids on eBay.

Also known as the Rocket Gold Star Scrambler, the Spitfire Scrambler is one of the rarest variations of BSA’s A10 model line up. It was an export-only bike that was primarily sold in the US and it was designed as an scrambles/desert racer from the factory. This bike is said to have received a ground-up restoration so it’s ready to show or ride.

In their marketing materials, BSA said this was “basically…a 650cc Rocket engine housed in competition-proven light-weight double tube frame.” The bike had a 2 gallon fuel tank, Amal Monobloc carb, 9:1 compression pistons, and a distinctive set of dual exhaust pipes. I’m a sucker for build threads, and someone on Brit Bike Forum is currently undergoing a restoration of the first Spitfire Scrambler ever built. It’s worth a read.
