Post Sale Update: This Metisse sold for $6,050 after 22 bids on eBay.

By 1965 Bultaco had been building fast motorcycles for 8 years. They were a dominant force in the off road racing scene in Europe and introduced what would become their most popular American model in ‘65, the Pursang.

There was a reason for the Pursang’s ‘instant hit’ status. Right out of the crate in 1965 the Pursang was competitive in the popular 250 CC Motocross class. The model and the legend would continue to grow right up until the Japanese took MX by storm in the mid 70s. The last Pursang was produced in 1980.

I could not find complete specs for any of the Mk1 Pursangs (‘65 and 66). If these are wrong, please leave a comment.

Bultaco Pursang for 1965 boasted a 244.29 cc two stroke single cylinder motor that pushed 35 HP through a 5 speed transmission. Front fork travel was 6 ½ inches, the rear travel was 3 15/16 inches. Ground clearance was 9 ½ inches and dry weight a mere 220 LBS (100 KG).

This particular 1965 Bultaco Pursang (VIN# B-110545) is in Spokane, WA and is listed as a completely restored original. There is an impressive list of replaced/repaired parts put on this bike. The bike is currently bid at $2,275 with reserve not met

By a strange twist of fate I am in Spokane, WA. If you are interested in this Pursang and would like me to look at it I would be happy to do so.
