08-03-2018 Update: Almost four years later, Tim Huber has seen that this TT is back up for sale with a $3,000 discount. You can find it at the Garage Company here on Craigslist for $13,000.

A race bike straight from the factory, the Triumph T120TT Special was stripped of weight and had an increase in performance. The model was the brainchild of Bill Johnson, the American west coast distributor – just 900 were built.

Thanks to high compression pistons, a hotter cam, and upgraded ignition, the TT produced 54 horsepower and pushed them through a close-ratio 4-speed transmission. The speedo, lights, and fork lock were removed, helping to take out 30 pounds from the base T120. Total weight was about 350 pounds. The fuel tank contained 2.5 gallons and was based on the Bonneville unit.
