Rare Project – 1967 Lube-NSU Yak

In Germany, Less than 5k, Off-Road by AbhiLeave a Comment

I love featuring bikes that I’ve never heard of before, and this Lube-NSU Yak (what a name!) definitely counts. Have you heard anything about this? Do you know anything about it? Please share, because I’ve been struggling to find much online.

NSU Lube Yak - Left Rear

All I’ve been able to find from cursory Google searches (and thanks to Sheldon’s EMU) is that a gentleman named L. Bejarano founded the company in 1947 in Bilbao, Spain and he utilized NSU engines. In ’64 he stopped receiving engines from NSU (not sure why) and the Yack (with a 19 horsepower, 150cc engine) was probably the last bike the company produced.

This example is claimed to be in excellent condition (and it looks pretty good cosmetically) but it has been in storage for many years and does not currently run. It’s never been registered and does not have a title. Look at the foot pegs and and chain guard!

Find this NSU Lube Yak (or Yack, as it’s shown on the sidecover) for sale here on Craigslist for $3,250 in Coventry, Connecticut.
