Here’s a bike that I basically couldn’t not find any information on – the Minsk M105. If anyone has experience with these bikes, please share your knowledge! Minsk (which is still around) is a motorcycle manufacturer out of Belarus that made a name for itself decades ago by producing durable bikes that were available in Russia, Cambodia, the UK, and Vietnam.

Minsk M105 - Tank

Speaking of Vietnam, I first heard of Minsk through the British TV show Top Gear. Normally focused on cars, the show did a special where the three hosts rode little motorcycles from Saigon to Halong City, a distance of 1,000 miles in Vietnam. It’s one of the greatest episodes of Top Gear, and I highly recommend you check it out here (if you have an hour to kill!). As you’ll see, Richard Hammond rocks a Minsk for the trip, with varying levels of success. As a bonus, James May uses a Honda Super Cub.

Minsk M105 - Gauges

This Minsk M105 has (MMB3) on the tank, which may be the actual model number. Either way, it has just 3 kilometers on it as it was apparently bought by the seller’s grandfather, who never rode a motorcycle in his life. The seller says the M105 is a lightweight road bike with a single-cylinder air-cooled engine that produced 7 horsepower.
