1973 Husqvarna Two-Fer – 400 CR and 125 WR

In Off-Road, Sweden by AbhiLeave a Comment

By 1973 Husky had near domination in dirt racing world wide. The list of winning Husqvarna riders reads like an all star list: Malcolm Smith, Bob Grossi, Heikki Mikkola, Arne Kring, Brad Lackey and many more rode Husky to wins.

The 400 CR was known as a ‘ready to race’ out of the crate motorcycle. The open class thumpers were fast and handled notoriously well. The 125 WR was a solid dirt bike that had enough electrical to allow for easy addition of lighting to make them street legal in some venues.

The 1973 Husqvarna 400 CR used a 396 CC air cooled single cylinder two stroke motor that made 40 HP with a 5 speed transmission, great suspension and brakes and a total weight of 220 LBS.

The 1973 Husqvarna 125 WR used a 124 CC air cooled single cylinder two stroke motor that made 21 HP with a 5 speed transmission, great suspension and brakes with a total weight of 198 LBS.

This particular 1973 Husqvarna 400 CR (VIN # MK 04163) and the 1973 125 WR (VIN # MK05315) are in Layton, Utah. The CR is listed as mostly original and the WR is listed as ‘95% Restored 8 years ago’. The CR has a nice list of parts included with the bike while the WR listing is more spotty. The CR runs ‘like a scalded alley cat’ and the WR is said to have been running 8 years ago with good compression. This listing might provide a chance to lowball a pair of pretty desirable Husky motorcycles. The bikes are currently bid at $202.50 with reserve not met
