The Spanish motorcycle company Bultaco was created when Francisco Bulto resigned from Montesa – a company he had co-founded – because the board wanted to withdraw from racing and he had no interest in such a decision. He took most of Montesa’s racing department with him and created Bultaco. Today we’ve got a Bultaco Matador MkV, designed by Luis Carreras, who joined Bultaco in 1969.

This bike was actually owned at one point by Jim Pomeroy, former MX star and Bultaco factory rider. The seller notes that he bought this bike from Bonham’s in 2009 – this link shows that the purchase price was $6,727. The bike has been exhibited at several shows, including “Legend of the Motorcycle” event at Half Moon Bay, CA, when it was accepted as one of the world’s top 200 motorcycles.
