1975 OSSA Phantom GP1

In Off-Road, Spain by Abhi1 Comment

In response to Honda’s instant-classic Elsinore, OSSA released the 250cc Phantom, which weighed just 198 pounds.

Pushing around that sub-200 pound MX bike was a 33 horsepower engine. The package would set you back $1,350, 250 more than the Elsinore. For more on the Phantom, check out this little profile on the motorcycle.com forums.

This numbers-matching example (VIN: M190908) had been in storage for decades but it was recently cleaned up and given a new seat cover, air box boot and filter. The seller says it runs like it was still new and the Pirelli tires may even be original. Weirdly, this MX bike has been equipped with a heavy flywheel and case guards, and the seller was “told it could have been a special order from Yankee as it was sold in New York” to account for those typically non-MX features.
