Post-Sale Update: After 20 bids on eBay, this Ducati 900 SuperSport sold for $36,100.

The Ducati 900 SuperSport is a street-oriented successor to the classic, race-bred 750SS. Based on the non-desmo 860GT, Ducati added desmo valves, creating a beautiful bike that was as fast as anything else on the streets at the time.

The 900SS looked like a racer, and that reputation was helped tremendously when Mike Hailwood won the Isle of Man TT with a race-prepped model. The 864cc engine produced 70 horsepower, helping the bike attain a top speed of over 130 miles per hour. Collectors usually prefer bikes made after 1978, as the bike looked identical but it received several significant improvements.

This specific Ducati 900 SuperSport (VIN: DM860SS08692) has 9,500 miles and has been restored. The seller claims it runs beautifully and comes with “Baroni”, which I assume means Borrani, wheels.
