1977 MV Agusta 350S Ipotesi

Designed by legendary automotive stylist Giorgio Giugiaro (just like yesterday’s Ducati 860GT), MV Agusta’s Ipotesi wasn’t just beautiful, it was technically impressive. Triple disc brakes, cast magnesium wheels, and a 10,000 rpm redline made this 350cc bike a treat to ride.

The 350cc was an air-cooled, two-cylinder unit fed by dual Dell’Orto carbs. Produced only between 1975 and 1977, the 350 was an instant hit after being revealed at the Milan Motorcycle show. The 350S differed itself with the beautiful fairing, a shortened seat, and a shortened tail that was angled slightly upward. For more on the Ipotesi, which means Hypothesis in Italian, check out this story on Motorcycle Classics.

This example is said to be in “amazing condition”. It’s stock except for a Brembo brake upgrade. The seller unfortunately only includes one photo and asks you to email him/her for details. Something seems a little off about the fairing – the windshield doesn’t line up properly and it looks like the trim around the headlight is missing. Still, this would be a lovely mid-size bike to have in the garage. Find this Ipotesi for sale here on Craigslist for $12,000 in Denver, Colorado.
