A true sport tourer, the Laverda RGS one of the last manifestations of the big triple, though it was much tamer than the beloved Jota unit thanks to different crankshaft timing and rubber engine mounts. Some felt that the engine lost a bit of character in the process, but it became a much easier bike to tour on – especially with the half fairing. Some dealerships offered an “Executive” package, which included hard bags, extra wind protection, and taller bars. This bike is so equipped, and it’s had an impressive amount of work done in the last five or so years.

This example (VIN: zlvmvdha2d0000026) has 28,016 miles and has had some serious work done by Laverda specialist Scott Potter – the original plan was to just have the engine rebuilt and given a little extra love, but while the engine was out the entire bike got a comprehensive rebuild (but not a restoration, the paint was left original). Unfortunately, the owner at the time only put a few miles on the bike before he had to let it go to the current seller, who has put on 1,200 miles in five years. The only change the current seller has made was to replace custom Works Performance shocks with Ikons. Flaws are limited to old tires and tire changing marks on the wheels.
