1984 Yamaha RZV500R

In Japan, Sport by AbhiLeave a Comment

Titled in Florida but located in Wyoming, this RZV500R is one of the rare examples that’s ready to ride in the US. It was originally offered in Japan and a few other non-US markets. The first production bike with a 2-stroke V4 engine, the RZV (also known as the RD500LC in some markets) was built as a tribute to the World Championship-winning 0W70 YZR500 works bike that Kenny Roberts rode.

The 499cc engine put out about 60 horsepower and the bike weighed 381 pounds. For more information, check out this write-up on RZ/RD.

According to the seller, this RZV has mostly been in storage all of its life. It’s said to run great but the seller has to let it go due to health issues. The original manuals and the mirrors are included in the sale. Find this RZV-R for sale in Cheyenne, Wyoming for $13,300 here on the RZ/RD Owner’s Group. There isn’t much activity on that site, but you can also reach the seller via ADVRider (registration required). I’ve removed the listing as it now appears this is a scam. Shame.
