Post Sale Update: This Limited Edition Gixxer sold for a lowered BIN of $18,500.

Over the last few months, I’ve featured several bikes on sale by the New England Motorcycle Museum, as they’re getting rid of inventory so they can raise enough funds to complete construction and finally open the museum to the public. This might be the most impressive of them all, as the bike was donated by Peter Boccarosa, the guy behind Super Bike Universe just for this fundraising project.

Suzuki GSXR-750 Limited Edition - Left Side

Just like with hip hop, Japanese sportbikes were much cooler in the 80s. And it didn’t get much cooler than the Limited Edition of the Suzuki GSX-R 750. The name isn’t particularly imaginative but the upgrades Suzuki implemented are so good that you shouldn’t care what name is slapped on the fairings. The piece de resistance is the dry clutch, a $2,000 improvement in itself, but you also got a metal fuel tank, solo tail cowl, and a steering damper. Oh, and the bike lost 60 pounds in the process! The “Limited” wasn’t a lie, either – less than 1,000 examples were built.

This example (VIN: JS1GR75A562107181) doesn’t settle for the regular Limited Edition upgrades, as it also features a full Yoshimura exhaust, Dynojet carb jet kit, and K&N air filters. It’s said to be in great condition, and it just received $1,655 in parts and labor this week to make sure it’s in good shape.
