In the 1985, Aprilia started outsourcing some of their engine production to Rotax – the AF1 was one of the earlier results of this partnership. After Loris Reggiani won the first World Speed Championship with an AF1, Aprilia released the Project 108 Replica.

The 125cc Rotax engine put out 22 horsepower and the styling drew attention wherever it went. Check out this link from Aprilia 125 for a review of the AF1 from Performance Bikes back in 1988. Amusingly, the byline is: “Never heard of Aprilia? You will if they make any more bikes like the AF1 125.”

Aprilia Project 108 Replica - Right Side

This specific Aprilia Project 108 Replica (VIN: 07149) has 4,079 miles and is claimed to be in awesome shape except for a broken right mirror and the fact that some fairing screws have been replaced with zip ties. Not sure if that still qualifies as ‘awesome’ shape, but it still looks good in photos.
