Allen Millyard Build – 1975 Honda “SS250”

I’ve featured the amazing custom builds of Allen Millyard before but until today I haven’t been able to share one of his builds that was actually for sale. Today is a good day – at least for those of you in the UK. Meet the Honda “SS250”, named because it’s a 1975 Honda SS50 frame with the 250cc motor from a 2006 Kawasaki KX250F motocrosser!

This is the 2nd of 2 identical builds and it’s claimed to be in excellent condition. The seller says the motor has been dyno’d at 28.6 horsepower at the rear wheel, which is plenty for a bike that originally weighed 168 pounds dry. Obviously the new motor will add a bit to that weight figure, but that’s insignificant considering the original motor produced 2.5 horsepower.

The SS50 was able to hit between 40 and 55 miles per hour, depending on who you believe. This build now does the ton, if you’re feeling brave. Other modifications include a handmade rear swingarm and extra bracing for the engine. The seller says “there’s too many extras to list” but based on Allen’s previous work it’s fair to assume that everything is top-notch.
