After lap 15 this weekend at the Spanish GP in Jerez, Valentino Rossi achieved an odd milestone – he covered 40,075 kilometers in competition, and that is equivalent to the circumference of the Earth!
Gift Intermission – Honda Motocompo Wood Model
For reasons that can’t be explained by logic, I have a bizarre fascination with the Honda Motocompo. Apparently Kirk Shinmoto is wired the same way, because he’s built an impressive model of Honda’s famous scooter-that-can-live-in-a-trunk.It’s made out of maple and plywood, and you can buy it now for yourself or your Motocompo-obsessed friend!
Video Intermission – 1970 Harley Davidson Bonneville LSR
If you were on a quest to set a motorcycle land speed record today, what motor would you use? In 1970, someone thought the way to go was the powerplant from a Sportster. To be fair, that someone was Dick O’Brien, Harley-Davidson’s racing crew chief. Before you read on, take guess as to how fast they went.

Picture Intermission – 2nd Annual OG Moto Show Preview
I missed the Outlier’s Guild Moto Show last year because it was the same weekend of the Quail, but yesterday I got to check out a preview event and I have to say I’m impressed. If you’re local to LA and have an opportunity to go today (Saturday, March 31st), I’d say it’s well worth the $10 ticket at the …

View PostVideo Intermission – Revival Cycles Ducati Odioso at the 2017 Quail Motorcycle Gathering
In a show full of classics, Revival Cycles stood out with one of the craziest custom builds I’ve seen in years. It’s a tribute to sidecarcross based on a Ducati ST4, and it’s named Odioso (Italian for “obnoxious.”
