Sturgis has wrapped up and one of the most photographed motorcycles was not a bike at all. Keith Booth is a new resident of Sturgis and he used over 150 cow bones to create a sculpture called Rapid. He assembled what you see here over a 30 hour period and the sculpture is for sale for $3,500.
Owner’s Manual Intermission – 1958 Zundapp 200S
Bob Kelly and his buddy just acquired a rough Zundapp 200S, but it came with the “Operation Maintenance Manual” and Bob thought that you (yes, you) would get a kick out of it.
Video Intermission – Ventura to Death Valley
Follow along as Scott Toepfer takes you on a quick trip from Ventura to Death Valley – sea level to sea level – in this short but sweet video that I unexpectedly saw on National Geographic.
Video Intermission – Hit and Run Hero
Yesterday’s video was about a motorcyclist who makes us look bad, so today let’s look at a motorcyclist that makes us look good! A rider witnessed a driver hit two cars and then take off, so he chased him down while relaying information to 911.
Video Intermission – Unexpected Airtime
Look, it’s pretty obvious here that the rider’s assessment that the “steering locked up” isn’t accurate. I’m not going to kick him while he’s down, so I’ll just leave the video here for you to make your own conclusions.
Video Intermission – The Black Falcon
In Paul D’Orleans’ words, The Black Falcon is “the most revered custom motorcycle in recent history.” It was released to a decent amount of fanfare 6 years ago, but with a recent video Paul has been able to capture some details that the public never got to truly understand. So here’s your chance to check out some of the nitty-gritty …
Video Intermission – “Britten – Return to The Island”
A couple of weeks ago I let you know that two Brittens will be running in the Retro Parade at the Isle of Man Classic TT Festival. I shared the start of a video series being done around the black/yellow CRS bike, but today we’ve got a video that should whet your appetite about the blue/pink bike. It’s a quick …
Video Intermission – Black Beauty, Isle of Man TT 2017
This August, two of the ten Britten V1000s will participate in the Retro Parade at the Isle of Man Classic TT Festival, marking 23 years since they both competed in the 1994 Isle of Man TT races. I’ve always been a sucker for the pink/blue livery of Kevin Grant’s machine, but the yellow/black CRS bike has competed in more TTs …
Video Intermission – On Two Wheels – Honda CRF250L Rally vs Kawasaki Versys-X 300
One of my favorite motorcycle video shows is back – On Two Wheels just debuted a new episode! They take the new 300cc class ADV-lite bikes up the California coast. Because PCH is closed right now, they go inland on some dirt and find one of the most incredible campsites I’ve ever seen.
Game Intermission – Timing Lights
Let’s all play a game together – test your reaction time with the timing lights that start off a F1 race! Admittedly, it’s a bit of a stretch as to how relevant this is to motorcycling, but F1 start lights are similar to MotoGP lights so I’m going to pretend like it counts. Plus it just seems like a quick …
Video Intermission – Mark Atkinson’s BMW Alpha
View PostVideo Intermission – Look Out Below!
As soon as the rear wheel fell through the tracks, I assumed this bike was going to fall to its death and that the rider would be very lucky if he didn’t suffer the same fate. Instead, I was rewarded with “I’m holding it all with my balls, go get a picture of me!”
Video Intermission – Neander by The Vintagent
Is there anyone doing cooler things with vintage bikes than Paul D’Orleans? His famous website just got a redesign, and a new part of the joy is original video content. Here’s “Neander”, his first effort. It’s a short piece that’s tangentially about a beautiful 1930 Neander with a JAP V-Twin motor, but I think it’s really an introduction to the …
Video Intermission – RevZilla’s How to Buy a Used Motorcycle
We feature a lot of used motorcycles for sale on Bike-urious, but it’s one thing to browse and another thing to buy. Wondering what you should do when you’re about to buy a pre-loved bike? Let the folks at RevZilla show you the way.
Video Intermission – Rennie Scaysbrook’s 2017 Pikes Peak Run
In the 101 year long history of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, only 5 riders have completed the course in less than 10 minutes. Rennie Scaysbrook (Road Test Editor at Cycle News) is part of that list, thanks to his 9:57.712 run this year on a KTM 1290 Super Duke. What’s even crazier is that he placed second to …
