In Dual-Sport, Japan, Less than 5k by AbhiLeave a Comment

As of the date of this post (5/22), this XL250 is $1,400. Every day that goes by with it still in the seller’s posession, that price drops $100.

A quick refresher on the XL250: 24 horsepower, 288 pounds wet weight, 2.4 gallon fuel tank. Ignoring the handlebars, it was just a maximum of 12 inches wide. For more on this bike, check out this period review from Cycle magazine hosted at Ye Olde Cycle Shoppe. Cycle summed it up by saying “the XL250S is a solid, dual-purpose machine – but not the gilded dream we’ve waited for.”

This example has 6,800 miles. It apparently sat for years but the seller just put 30+ miles on it over the weekend. It needs a battery and the headlight works, though it is cracked. It’s got an oversized gas tank and it’s registered. The seller simply says “It’s not perfect but looks good for it’s age & does what it should.” You can find more photos here, if you wish.
