Curtis Framed – 1967 Norton Cafe Racer

In Cafe Racer, England by AbhiLeave a Comment

Denis Curtis made a bit of a name for himself in the production of motorcycle racing frames. Between ’73 and ’77, the six employees of Curtis Racing Frames built frame kits for a wide variety of bikes.

According to the seller, this frame was originally built for a Vincent V-Twin engine, but it has since been modified to fit the Norton 750 unit. The seller has raced the bike at Seattle International Raceway (now known as Pacific Raceways) and Portland International Raceway, and he says the engine puts down 60 horsepower at the rear wheel. Note that there is a hairline crack on the upper engine plate. The seller says it’s easily repaired, which should make you wonder why he hasn’t done it himself. There are plenty of extras, like Boyer ignition, Megacycle cam, the rear wheel from a Husky, the front wheel and forks from a Laverda, the tach from a Suzuki GT750, the tank from a Rickman, and plenty more.
