Post Sale Update: This XS sold for $1,350 after 8 bids on eBay…to Bike-urious contributor Cas Vanderwoude!

This one-owner XS750 has not run in several years but I think it’s worth resuscitating. Either that, or someone needs to pick this up just to grab all the fantastic period goodies and throw it on their own XS!

Yamaha XS750E Rabid Transit - Fairing

The original owner had two of these bikes – one was built for road racing and the other was built for street enjoyment. Hopefully you can guess which this one was. Apparently when the owner passed away, the family estate only focused on getting value out of the race bike, and this cool Yamaha ended up at a scrap yard. The dealership says they had to save it from the crusher, if you believe the story.

Yamaha XS750E Rabid Transit - Paperwork

With all that said, I love this bike. It comes with the original owner’s manual, lots of documentation including receipts, and some very cool period modifications: Jardine 3-into-1 full exhaust, CB radio, ETA clubman cafe bars, and of course, the color-matched Don Vesco Rabid Transit fairing. I hope someone brings this bike back to life. Will it be you? If so, find this XS750E for sale in Menasha, Wisconsin with bidding up to $1,250

Note that the bike is available directly on the seller’s site for $2,500.
