Post Sale Update: This bundle of parts sold for the BIN of $1,000…to Bike-urious reader Kevin D!
The seller of this Ducati enjoyed it for 5 years until a loose kickstand bolt wreaked havoc. The bike fell over and cracked the engine case. In this thread on Ducati.ms, the seller notes that “a former employee of mine disassembled it to work on it and left the company before doing anything else. It should be complete.” Think of it as a fancy jigsaw puzzle that you can ride once you’re done!
Obviously, this bike (VIN: ZDM1LC4N8SB016963) is now in pieces, though it hasn’t been completely torn down to the frame. This might be the perfect opportunity to build a custom? The seller has NOS engine cases from Ducati ready to be installed, and he has a Dropbox album so you can see what’s included (he claims it’s complete).
It’s been over 10 years since the bike was taken apart, but it has to be sold now because the seller’s losing his storage space. It’s got a clean title and Staintune exhaust. So, what should someone do with this? Make a parent-child rebuild bonding project? Build a custom that will sound amazing? Or just part it out for a little spending money?
