As if a ‘78 CB750A isn’t rare enough, why not put a Jawa/Velorex sidecar on it? Then just to be sure you have the one and only mount a Hedingham leading link front fork set up on it. If that doesn’t put you in the ‘one of a kind’ category, nothing will.

The CB750A debuted in 1976 with a two speed torque converter and a detuned motor that made a full 20 HP less than the CB750F. The torque converter setup worked as planned, but it wasn’t really an automatic. The rider had to chose one of two ranges (low or drive) while stopped. Putting the side stand down kicked the bike into neutral and so made it able to roll if on a hill. A rear brake lock solved that problem.

The 1978 Honda CB750A used a 736 CC air cooled four stroke overhead cam inline four cylinder motor that made 47 HP. Good brakes, good suspension, a two speed transmission and a weight of 536 LBS made for a top speed of 105 MPH (High Range).

This 1978 Honda CB750A features a Velorex/Jawa sidecar made in 1982. The seller indicates that there are mounting/set up deficiencies. Velorex has very detailed mounting and setup specs available on line.

This CB750A is clearly set up to be a sidecar tug. The Hedingham front suspension, steering dampner and square profile tires lend themselves to the task. Also included in the auction is a CB750A parts bike that would allow you to take the bike back to ‘ordinary’.

This particular 1978 CB750A (VIN shown but not legible) is in Denver, Colorado and is listed as a 21,311 mile bike set up for the included sidecar. A very extensive listing points out some defects and it is being sold with a New Mexico title. The bike is sitting on the starting bid of $3,200
