MotoQuest Transporter Specials – Fall 2017

Here’s something for you to contemplate as you get settled in your office for the week: at the start and end of each riding season, MotoQuest needs to get some of their inventory up to Alaska and back. To help make that happen, they offer “Transporter” deals for people to ride their bikes instead of throwing them in a trailer – and that means that you can get a steep discount if you’re got flexible scheduling. For example, a R1200GS rental out of Long Beach, California (like what Spurgeon and I took down to Cabo) would normally cost $175/day, with some discounts for longer rentals. But if you want to fly up to Anchorage and then ride down to Los Angeles (here’s my trip to the top of Alaska if you need inspiration), then you can do so for $60/day.

Cheaper deals include a V-Strom 650 ADV for $40/day or a BMW F800GS for $50/day. There’s other options as well, and you can choose if you want to go from Anchorage all the way down to Long Beach or just to Portland, Oregon. Obviously, there’s still plenty of costs to consider with regards to lodging, fuel, and flights, but for many riders who’ve dreamed of this trip, the bike rental is the most expensive part. These discounts can drastically help.
