5-2-2021 Update: Four years later, this custom is back up for sale over on Iconic. Find it with bidding up to $3,101 and the reserve not yet met here on Iconic Motorbike Auctions.

3-8-2017 Update: 6 months later, reader Jeff M has discovered that this custom Suzuki is back up for sale with a significant discount – and probably a different owner. Impressively, he was also able to identify the front fairing – it’s a Tyga NC35. Find this Suzuki for sale here on Craigslist for $5,500 in Eagle Rock, California.

Look closely. Yes, that’s the rear end of a Suzuki SV650. But you might be thinking to yourself, “that looks like the tail from a MV Agusta F4!” You’d be right. Meet the MV-SV Special, a custom build by Chris Baker. You can probably guess where the name comes from.

The custom work doesn’t end at the back – it also features the front forks/wheel/brakes from a Suzuki GSX-R 1000, a custom carbon fiber tank to match the styling of the tail, and Dymag Sport 5 magnesium wheels, the rear of which is shown off thanks to the single sided swingarm from a Honda RC30. It’s a fun build – for more details, check out this page dedicated to it. One thing that’s not specified and I can’t figure out myself is what the front fairing and headlight setup is from. My best guess is a Kawasaki Ninja 650 but it doesn’t look 100% correct. Do you know?

The seller has owned the bike for about 2.5 years and during that time he’s put approximately 1,500 miles on it. It’s said to run excellently but he’s about to become a dad and the bike has to go. In 2007, this custom was featured in an issue of Cycle World’s Sport Bike.

Find this stylish SV650 for sale here on Craigslist for $6,600 in Santa Clara, California.
