Never Ridden – 1997 Honda CR500

Nicknamed the Ping King, the CR500 was the most powerful MX bike that Honda had produced when it was released in 1984. It’s a MX legend but by the mid 90s it was clear that 4-strokes were the future – it didn’t help that the AMA discontinued the 500 MX race class in 1993. Production ended in 2001, and those bikes were very similar to the ’97 model in front of you today. This example stands out because it’s basically new!

For more on the CR500, check out this site dedicated to the model. Somehow, it comes with the original MSO. I wonder how it’s managed to stay unsold for all this time!

Find this basically new CR500 for sale in Hillsboro, Oregon for $17,999 here on Craigslist. It’s being offered by a dealership called Motosport Hillsboro and they note that “we are guaranteed to be firm on price.

Or if you want something you won’t mind riding (and you’d like to go crazy on the street), there’s a street legal CR500 with a license plate in Hollywood, California for $7,500 also on Craigslist.
