Nimbus Nut Restoration – 1955 Nimbus Model C

Travis Scott is one of the most knowledgeable people in the US about the Danish motorcycle manufacturer Nimbus. Because of that, he’s known as the Nimbus Nut – and I interviewed him about this a couple of years ago. Well, Travis has just completed another restoration and is offering a rare opportunity for you to snag one of less than 250 examples in the country.

The Nimbus is a very interesting motorcycle – while the design is old, it was technologically advanced. Because of this, the Nimbus is legendarily reliable. In Denmark, some riders still use these as their daily transportation. The motor is a 746cc inline four that was good for 18 horsepower. Top speed was approximately 75 miles per hour, and if someone was riding alongside you they’d be able to see the valves, rocker arms, and springs at work because there are no valve covers on the engine! For more information, check out this profile from the Nimbus Club USA, who estimate that there are about 200-250 of these bikes in the US.

This Nimbus is adorned in a lovely color which translates in English to “Withered Green.” Travis’ restoration apparently includes too many new parts to list, and he says it’s in showroom condition. Find this Nimbus for sale in Guffey, Colorado here on Craigslist for $16,500.
