On Any Sunday 2 Inspired in England – 2004 KTM 400 EXC-R

In Austria, Custom, Off-Road by AbhiLeave a Comment

7-28-18 Update: I love this bike, but I also know the original asking price was on the steep side. How about a 50% discount? 5 months later, Tim Huber notes that this bike is back up for sale – find it here on The Bike Shed. Now all you need is $6,450 to put it in your garage, assuming you live near Bath, England!

When I saw On Any Sunday 2, one of my favorite featured vehicles was the custom KTM 450 SX-F built to be auctioned off for the Kurt Caselli Foundation. I was surely not the only person who considered building something similar to that custom, but a gentleman named Daniel Ridge out of the UK actually made it happen.

In Dan’s words, “I reckon dirt bikes have lost the plot in the styling stakes: give me an Elsinore over a CRF any day or any the beautiful machines in the 60s and 70s.” So he built a bike with modern performance and the “desert sled styling of yesteryear.” The core of the bike is still modern KTM, but this bike features a custom subframe, aluminum fuel tank, and matching side panels and number plates. The mudguards are from a 1970 Husky. Everything is bolt on so if for some weird reason you want to bring it back to stock, you could.

For more details on this beauty, check out a profile of the build on Silodrome. Or for 130 photos documenting the build process, check out the seller’s website.

Find this KTM for sale in Bath, England here on The Bike Shed for approximately $12,880.
