In 2001, Harley-Davidson released the V-Twin Racing Street Custom (VRSC). You may remember it as the V-Rod. A muscle bike that was used as a base for drag racing, Harley got some attention with this bike because the Revolution v-twin engine was jointly developed with Porsche. The V-Rod spawned a multitude of models, including the “Night Rod” of 2006-2008. Here’s …
1 of 325 – 2015 Triumph Thruxton Ace
The new Thruxtons are in (and by all accounts, they’re a huge improvement over the last generation), which means that the previous Thruxtons are now available with a significant discount. Case in point – the last time I featured a limited production Ace Edition version, it sold for $10,100 after 27 bids on eBay. This one’s got an asking price …
Rare Project – 1973 Yankee Z500
Post Sale Update: This Z500 sold for $4,202 after 12 bids on eBay. The Yankee Z500 was the brainchild of John Taylor, the American importer for OSSA and Bultaco. He thought American dirt bikes should be able to compete with Europe’s best offerings, so he created Yankee Motor Company. He started his quest just by importing OSSAs, then threw OSSA …
1973 Moto Guzzi V7 Sport
Post Sale Update: After being relisted, this V7 Sport sold for $14,000 with 24 bids on eBay. 11-2-16 Update: This beautiful V7 Sport is back up for sale, with bidding up to $7,100 and the reserve not yet met here on eBay. Post Listing Update: Apparently $14,450 was not enough to sell this bike, as it did not meet reserve …
Cow Glide – 1993 Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail FLSTN
Called the Mooglide or the Cowglide, this bike was more formally known as the Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail FLSTN, or the Nostalgia. 2,700 examples were created, and the changes were entirely cosmetic. But what changes! Raven Black and Birch White paint with red pinstripes complemented seat and bag accents with a “cow-fur” design. I don’t get it.
1958 Triton
What do you get if you take the very best from two venerable manufacturers? In this case you get a 1958 Norton Featherbed frame with a 1978 Triumph Tiger powerplant wrapped up in custom cafe racer livery. You’ve probably heard of this mix before as a Triton (Triumph/Norton)
Ready to Ride – 1970 Triumph Bonneville
If you’re looking for a classic Brit to ride regularly, it’d be tough to go wrong with this recently restored Bonnie. It has just 85 miles on a rebuild of the top end to complement the new paint job and plenty of new parts sprinkled throughout.

View Post2002 Moto Guzzi V11 Scura
Take the Moto Guzzi V11, add some higher spec components, black paint scheme, and limited production numbers, and you get the Scura. Approximately 700 examples of the Scura were built, and they were upgraded with Ohlins suspension (forks, shock, and steering damper), carbon fiber panels, and a single disc clutch/aluminum flywheel that was supposed to be more aggressive, though there …
1985 Yamaha RZV500R
Post Listing Update: Despite 41 bids up to $13,200, this RZV did not meet reserve. Built as a tribute to the World Championship-winning 0W70 YZR500 works bike that Kenny Roberts rode, the Yamaha RZV500R was the first production bike in the world with a 2-stroke V4 engine.
Purple Rain Tribute – 1981 Honda
This bike doesn’t run at the moment, but it’s a pretty good find for a Prince fan who wants something two-wheeled in their collection…

Named in honor of an award at a speed trials (BSA literally received a Gold Star award) in 1937 the Gold Star was introduced as a 500 CC single in 1938. A 350 CC variant was added along the way and the model continued to 1963. One of the most successful motorcycles on the track and in the showroom in …

This past summer, Nitro Circus hosted the first Nitro World Games. There were two Motocross events – Freestyle and Best Trick. Here’s the entire Best Trick competition for your enjoyment.
Needs a Taillight – 1984 Honda Motocompo
Post Listing Update: This Motocompo did not get any interest at the opening bid of $3,000. One of the true cult classics of scooters, the Motocompo was designed to fit into the trunks of Honda’s subcompact cars of the time. To minimize dimensions of the scoot when it needs to be stored, the handlebars and seat can be folded in …
In Italy – 1962 Aermacchi Ala Verde 250
Last week I featured an Ala Verde replica based on a Aermacchi Sprint. Let’s one up it with an example of the original Green Wing.
