Rare in the US – 2001 Italjet Dragster 180

In Italy, Less than 5k, Scooter by AbhiLeave a Comment

One of the most interesting two-wheelers of all time, the Italjet Dragster is the only scooter to have ever combined a space frame and a RAAD forkless front suspension (think of what was equipped on the Yamaha GTS1000. It was built between 1998 and 2003, and very few made it to the states as the bike was never officially imported here.

Italjet offered 4 different engines for the Dragster, ranging from 50cc to 250cc. This 180 produces approximately 20 horsepower, good for a top speed of about 80 miles per hour. It’s not what most people think of when they hear “scooter.” It’s a two-stroker that isn’t for novices. For more on this oddball scoot, check out this review on Carole Nash, where Alastair Walker says “The unique character of the Dragster can be summed up in one word however; mental. It looks crazy and rides just as bananas too.”

This example has somehow been titled and plated in Illinois. It has just over 400 miles and the seller claims it can do 90-95 miles per hour. You can find out if he’s telling the truth by finding this Italjet for sale here on Craigslist for $5,000 in Chicago, Illinois.
