Restored – 1975 Honda CB550

In Japan, Standard by AbhiLeave a Comment

After a twenty year slumber, this CB550 Four was recently brought back to life with a down to the frame restoration.

The CB550 Four featured a 544cc motor that produced 38 horsepower. It was built between 1974 and 1978. In 1975, Honda introduced a “F” version alongside the usual K – both shared the same frame, motor, brakes, wheels, and more, but the F was more of a cafe with less chrome, different exhaust, and a few other stylistic changes.

Work to this bike includes powdercoating of the frame, swingarm, and kickstand, hardware that’s been stripped and cadmium plated, vapor blasted engine covers and wheel hubs, rebuilt carbs, rebuilt front brake system, and a long list of new parts – grips, turn signals, shocks, clutch, cables, battery, spark plugs, etc. It’s got a new repro exhaust, as well. The tank and side covers have been repainted and the tank also has new emblems and decals.

Find this CB550 for sale in Huntington Beach, California for $7,900 here on Craigslist.

This bike-uriousity brought to you by Aaron S – who also sent me a restored CB750 from the same seller at a better price, but that was snagged up almost instantly.
