The Triumph Speed Triple has become quite popular over the last 20 years – in particular it’s become the darling of hooligans and wheelie enthusiasts. And while today’s it’s a no-brainer to recommend a “Striple” to your friends as their next purchase, back when this bike was introduced, no one knew what to expect from Hinckley Triumph.

The 885cc engine in the opening T309 generation were carb’d and produced 97 horsepower at the crank – that power was pushed through a 5-speed transmission. The Speed Triple name was an homage to the Speed Twin from 60 years prior. Triumph Speed Triple - Cockpit

This specific Triumph Speed Triple (VIN: SMT390DF1SJ018877) is in the gorgeous Fireball Orange. It has just 9,719 miles, a period Super III exhaust, Woodcraft clipons, and an original aftermarket bikini fairing. It also unfortunately has a small depression on the left side of the gas tank, but this is a beautiful example of the bike that arguably put Triumph back on the map.
