In Greece – 1964 Alta 50S
In business between 1962 and 1978, Alta was a manufacturer of motorcycles, cars, and trucks based out of Athens, Greece. When they started, they built vehicles around a Sachs 50cc engine – one of the most notable was the Alta 50S.
Restored – 1969 Sachs K-125GS Boondocker
Introduced in 1968, the Sachs K-125GS (also known as the Boondocker) was designed to be a competitive turn key entrant for privateer off-road racers. Here’s an example that’s been restored and is nearly perfect – though the opening bid is over 6x the original MSRP of $600.
Rare Project – 1965 SIS V5 Sport
The country of Portugal isn’t well-known for producing motorcycles, but the SIS V5 Sport was one of the most famous – the Portuguese government even made a stamp of it as part of a series they did on motorcycles of their home country.
1971 Speedway Widowmaker
The Speedway Widowmaker has one of the greatest names ever affixed to a motorcycle. It also doesn’t sound like something you’d want to buy your kid who was learning on a tiny 80cc two-stroke.
