The 32nd Annual LA – Barstow – Vegas

In Blog, Off-Road by Abhi5 Comments

As part of Nathan and my stupid plan to tackle Baja next year, we’re trying to get experience in the dirt whenever we can. Last week we tried our first race – the Prospectors Grand Prix at Gorman. It did not go well, but more on that later when I finally catch up on that story. We’re planning on tackling the LA – Barstow – Vegas ride this year and we’d love to have you join us! But act soon – the sale price ends tonight…

First, a quick preview of what happened at Gorman. We’re incredibly behind on creating video for what we’ve done over the last few months, but I’ll just leave you with what Nathan was able to do during his first race. I’ll just say that spectators said “it was gnarly” and it required a visit to the hospital:

So, LABV – it’s a 2 day ride that takes you from Los Angeles to Vegas with an overnight in Barstow. There are routes of varying difficulty, and the organizers will schlep your shit between stops so you can run as light as you wish on your steed. You’ll start in Palmdale and the end at the Orleans Hotel in Vegas. Your bike has to be street legal, you’ll need a working odometer, and you’ll be required to have a roll chart holder (though they might be flexible on that rule and you can purchase one at the start). Depending on the route, you’ll cover between 450 and 500 miles over the 2 days. So – if you’re interested in joining us, get more information here at the official site, register here on Eventbrite, and then drop me a line so we can do this together! Just remember – you have to be an AMA member to join!
