Turbo Tourer – 1985 BMW K100RT

Now you can tell people the “T” in RT stands for Turbo. Unfortunately, this bike needs a new clutch – but the asking price is less than what the turbo must have cost to put on, so I’m thinking this is an excellent winter project for someone in New England.

Turbo Tourer - 1985 BMW K100RT - Turbo

This RT is equipped with choice aftermarket extras to help cover the miles – Works shock, LED driving lights, Corbin seat with removable driver backrest, two windshields, and the full set of OEM bags. There’s even a Luftmeister exhaust if you want a little more of a growl. The turbo is a RB Racing unit and it utilizes four larger injectors, plus a gauge package that includes boost, exhaust/water temp, volts, and fuel/oil pressure. The seller says that when boost comes on in 4th and 5th gear, the clutch is starting to slip. Throw in a new clutch plus a front tire and left fork seal and you’ll have one hell of a ‘bahn burner for cheap. The bike has 70,000 miles on it but it’s unclear how long ago the turbo was installed. The seller says the bike starts and runs perfectly.
