Post Sale Update: This XR1200 sold for $6,000 to Bike-urious contributor Ted C!

Harley understandably doesn’t get much love from riders who prefer sporty steeds, but the XR1200 was a pleasant surprise. A modern and mellow take on the XR750, the 12 was originally only sold in Europe until the US market correctly noted how dumb that decision was. Even though many people complained when the bike wasn’t available in the US, few riders actually put their money where their mouth was and the model was discontinued after 2012. For those in the know, it’s been a cult classic ever since. This example stands out to me as it’s been well modified for those of you that value riding dynamics.

This example has 17,534 miles and I’m a big fan of the orange/black livery. From an upgrade standpoint, this bike features Ohlins suspension front and rear – the seller claims this cost him 3 grand. In addition, the brakes have been upgraded with Storz Performance braided steel brake lines and Galfer rotors. Lastly, you’ve got a few pieces from the Vance & Hines catalog – exhaust, frame sliders, bars, levers, and a FuelPak – their take on the Power Commander.

Find this XR for sale here on Craigslist for $6,500 in Kennesaw, Georgia.
