UPDATE: Here’s my First Ride review!

I’m about to hop on a plane to southern Spain for the official launch of the “new” MT-07, which is really just a refresh of their very popular FZ-07. While the new name might feel like a change for us Americans, “MT” (which goofily stands for “Master of Torque) is already the model designation in Japan and Europe so Yamaha is just performing what they call a “global marketing alignment.”

It’s not just a name change, though. Yamaha has heard your complaints about the FZ’s soft suspension, so the MT gets updates in that department and some styling tweaks. What do you want to know? Let me know in the comments and I’ll get answers for you!

Other things to note:
– The price is up $400 this year, but that’s because the optional ABS is now standard. (ABS was a $400 option in the past).
– Most of the styling tweaks are cosmetic, but the seat is now 30% larger.

– It will be available in March and offered in 3 colors: Matte Gray, Intensity White, and Team Yamaha Blue. I have the maturity of a 14 year old, so my favorite livery is the first one:

Colored wheels are better.

– Lastly, Yamaha’s got some weird people working in their marketing department. They are either geniuses that I don’t understand or they’re on some form of hallucinatory drugs:
