Post Listing Update: This GSX-R was pulled off of eBay, final sale price unknown.

Though the model debuted in 1985, Suzuki’s legendary Gixxer line did not make its way to the US until 1986. The changes were minor – better headlights, a revised belly pan, and 25mm longer swingarm, but Americans were probably too busy drooling over the first true street-legal race replica to notice.

For more on the first generation of the GSX-R, check out this retrospective from Rider. This example (VIN: JS1GR75A8G2103268) is offered by the second owner, who has had it for 30 years. “It has been lovingly maintained with all factory parts-even the pipe is original to this bike.” The cosmetic issues are limited to some scrapes on the bellypan and a repaired crack in the upper right fairing near the mirror. The sale includes the factory service manual and a great matching helmet.
