#265 - 1972 Kawasaki Z1

9-6-2022 Update: Four years later, this bike is back up on the auction block. Normally when I share a bike years later and it's in a different state, it's because the bike has sold a time or two. But this time it's in a different country (England) because the owner himself moved! Regardless, this is an incredible example of a Z1 and I'm curious to see if time and/or a different location helps get the deal done. Find this Kawi for sale in Wrexham, England with bidding up to $26,800 and the reserve not yet met here on eBay.

Post Listing Update: Bidding jumped around all over the place on this one. eBay's bid history shows that someone had a $40k(!) bid but retracted it so the action went back down to under $20k. The bidding was at $19,900 when the seller pulled the bike off of eBay, and as of 9-9-18 it has not sold yet.

One of the most legendary motorcycles of all time, the Z1 has been a frequent feature here on the pages of Bike-urious. This example stands out as it's number 265 off the production line - plus I personally rode this bike a few months ago and can vouch for the quality of the bike as well as the owner.

In 2014, Honda updated the CB1100 with a new dash and a six-speed transmission. The styling remained the same - bodywork that was designed to evoke the classic lines of the CB750. But a company in Japan called Whitehouse CB1100 owners to make their bikes look even more like the CB750 with a bodywork kit that included the tank, fenders, fork ears, headlight, side cover, seat, badging, and more. As the seller puts it, "if you're looking for classic looks with modern dependability, performance, and stopping, this is it."
