This 916 is claimed to be one of the first three imported into the US, and the very bike that Ducati used as the display model for the 1995 Chicago motorcycle show.
Picture Intermission – Daytona Bike Week
Well, the 75th Anniversary of Daytona Bike Week is happening right now and if you’re unfortunately like me, you’re stuck somewhere else, wishing you could check out the festivities. If that’s the case, take a couple of minutes out of your morning to enjoy some photos from Steve King, who’s been kind enough to share his photos from the first …

View PostList Intermission – The 80 Best Bikes of All Time
In a move that I’m sure will have no dissenters, Devitt Insurance compiled a list of the 80 best motorcycles in history to celebrate their 80th anniversary of providing motorcycle insurance. There might be a slight nationalistic bias here – The first 7 (and 9 out of the top 10) are British bikes! What do you think of the list?
January 2016 Result Highlights
One of the requests I got from the Reader Survey was to update y’all with the results of featured bike listings. I thought that was a good idea – hopefully you’ve seen in the past that I sometimes update a post with the final sale price, if I’m able to find it. But that requires you to go back in …

Bonhams follows up their impressive Vegas offerings with an auction in Paris on February 4th. Come check out what’s on the block – it’s chock full of little Italian jewels…and one of the coolest custom Honda’s I’ve ever seen!

1966 Benelli 125
One of the many bikes sold under the Benelli/Montgomery Wards Riverside partnership, this 125 is claimed to be great running low mileage example complete with the original black license plate. With the exception of some clubman bars and levers, it’s very stock. Find this Baby Benelli for sale here on Moto Guzzino in California for $2,995.
Custom Honda CX650 Cafe Racer
Built by retired master tech Kevin Murphy, this bike is based on a CX650 Turbo frame that has been joined with the front frame section of a GL500. That’s combined with suspension from a CBR954RR and the gas tank and exhaust system from a European-market GL650. Lots of different Honda parts came together to make this pleasant custom which sort …
Meet a Reader – Barry Baxter
Like a surprising amount of Bike-urious readers, Barry Baxter is an accomplished pilot, with all kinds of licenses and tickets (commercial, instrument, multiengine, helicopter, aerobatics, and instructor). He’s flown over 100 different types of aircraft and has over 4,000 hours of flying time. I don’t know what it is about pilots and motorcycles, but they sure do seem to go …
