Post-Sale Update: This Ducati/Mototrans sold for $7,950 after 25 bids on eBay.

This Ducati 175 Sport was one of the bikes built under license by MotoTrans, a Spanish company that made a small range of Ducs – check out BikeEXIF for another example of a MotoTrans.

Because of the licensing deal, this was available after production of Ducati 175s ended around 1960. With that said, the Mototrans bikes were mostly Italian parts with some upgrades – a stronger clutch, stronger clipons, bigger fuel tank, Amal carb, aluminum wheels, and more. The odometer shows about 15,000 miles but the seller says true mileage is unknown due to the age of the bike. The seller wanted to restore this bike so it’s had some work done like a top end overhaul, new Silentium exhaust, new seat, and more. With that said, the seller says the bike needs to have a few parts chromed and “finishing in the right colors”.
