The photos of this bike are underwhelming, but these are rare finds and I had to share it nonetheless. If you’re wondering why KTM built this bike, here’s a refresher of how the brand came to be in the US, thanks in no small part to John Penton!
Built to celebrate KTM’s 30th anniversary, a limited run of these Jackpiners (some consider them to basically be a prototype of the 200MXC) was released with unique blue plastics, an Ohlins shock, and a whole bunch of trinkets, including a mug, a t-shirt, and a certificate of authenticity.
The seller of this example (VIN: 0248) doesn’t says that it’s never had fuel in it and that it’s been in a museum since it was first purchased. He adds that “this example was produced with the gold pipe and silencer, Brembo brake calipers and misc. accents from the factory making it the only one known to have been produced. It is as delivered down to the warning decals on the rear fender.” It’s unclear if the CoA/mug/shirt are included but this is rare example of an already rare bike. I just wish the photos were better!
