1987 Yamaha SRX250

In Japan, Less than 5k, Sport by AbhiLeave a Comment

For decades, Kawasaki ruled the 250cc ‘sport’bike market – though Honda has recently taken a chunk of the market with their CBR250R. Honda also challenged the little Ninja in the 80s with the VTR250, though it did not have much commercial success. For one year in the States, even Yamaha threw their hat into the ring with the Yamaha SRX250.

Powered by 250cc single-cylinder 4 stroke engine, the SRX pushed out 17 horsepower and was able to rev up to 9,000 rpm. Want more information? Check out someone’s fan page for the Yamaha SRX250, one of the very few out there.

This example has 9k miles and impressively, the seller “just” completed a 2k-mile trip from Tulsa, Oklahoma up to Seattle. It looks to be in good shape and the sale includes a second (red) seat. The seller is letting it go due to age, he’s 87. I hope to be still riding at that age as well!

Find this SRX for sale in Seattle, Washington for $1,950 here on Craigslist.
