The Honda Elite is one of the most common scooters of the 80s. It was introduced in 1984 as a 125cc model, though the next year it became a 150. It was sold in the US for another three years. – this one’s in Canada and it stands out as it’s only covered 9 kilometers!
The “Elite” title was given to a family of models ranging from 50 to 250cc. It was known as the CH150 or the Spacy in other markets. When the displacement was bumped to 150 in 1985, Honda split the bike into two models: the standard and the Deluxe. The standard had analog gauges and a fixed headlight while the Deluxe got a little fancier with a digital dashboard and a retractable headlight. By 1986, Honda killed the standard option.
The 150cc four-stroke motor was paired with a “V-matic” CVT and it was capable of 60-65 miles per hour depending on the size of the rider. Dry weight was 225 pounds. For more information on the mid-sized Elite, check out the Motor Scooter Guide.
This example (VIN: KF0106FK004063) has an interesting story – apparently a vacuum cleaner company in Toronto ran a contest in 1985 for its sales staff and the winner got this scooter. Per the seller, the winner “rode the scooter around a parking lot for a bit, trailered it home and it sat in his garage for 39 years! In 2024, now retired, he wanted more space in the garage and put it up for sale. It was purchased and brought back to its as new condition with a top to bottom cleaning. There was bad fuel in the gas tank so that had to be cleaned out and reinstalled. Fresh oil was added and a brand new battery and being a Honda, it fired right up! It runs perfectly. Only item needing attention is the fuel sender needs to be replaced to make the scooter perfect. If the scooter is being ridden, new tires would be a good idea as it currently sits on its original 40 year old tires. The only non-original items on the scooter are the new battery, an inline fuel filter and a replacement key (original was lost).”
