Did you know that Michael Jordan (yes, the legendary basketball player) is a huge motorcycle racing fan? In 2004, he founded Michael Jordan Motorsports (MJM) to get involved with the sport, and they immediately started competing in AMA Superbike. In 2013, they signed up Danny Eslick to compete alongside Roger Hayden – Danny ran number 23, what Jordan was famous …
Rob North Frame – 1971 BSA Rocket 3 Racer
Post Listing Update: This bike was relisted a couple of times – the highest bidding ever got was up to $30,100 but that wasn’t enough to meet reserve. Rob North isn’t as well known as he probably should be, but aficionados of Brit bikes know him as the fabrication guru who Triumph went to for frames in the early 70s. …
Dealer Build – 2015 Ducati Scrambler Icon Custom
Beverly Hills Ducati is trying their hand at custom building bikes, and it looks like they’ve started with an Icon version of the Scrambler. What do you think about it?
Bikers Helping Bikers – Restoring “Engaged to Death”
In 1956, Romolo Marcellini created a film called Engaged to Death – “a tale about rivalry and burning passion set in the dangerous and madcap world of two-wheelers.” It’s a fascinating look at 50s Italian race bikes (like the Moto Guzzi V8!) with looks at the manufacturers, racers, and even race strategy. Rodaggio Film has acquired the two existing 35mm …

View PostVideo Intermission – 1950s Harley-Davidson Promotional Film
Here’s a look back at what sales films used to look like – I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! This was created sometime in the late 50s (at least 1958, as that’s when the Duo Glide was released). As it’s stated in the beginning…the new Harley-Davidsons are OUT OF THIS WORLD! The marketing copy is fantastic.
Recent Restoration – 1956 Mondial 200 Sport
The glory years of FB Mondial were right at the beginning – they were founded in 1948 and immediately started winning GP World Championships. Specializing in high performance, small displacement bikes, FB Mondial hand built most of their motorcycles, resulting in production numbers between just 1-2 thousand a year. The (FB) Mondial 200 Sport was one of the few street …
1992 Suzuki Bandit GSF400
When the 400 Bandit was offered to the US for the first time, Cycle World said “as a styling exercise…it may be the most exciting bike of 1991.” A couple of decades later, and it still looks interesting. Suzuki first created the model in 1989, but the US wouldn’t get it for another couple of years – by that point …
1961 Honda CB92 Benly Super Sport
In the early 60s, Honda’s CB92 (also known as the Benly Super Sport) was one of the best small sport bikes available. The bike was sold between 1959 and 1962, and just 599 examples made it across the Pacific Ocean to the US.
2005 Ducati 999S Custom
The seller of this bike took a salvaged 999S and turned it into something designed to be much more comfortable and easier to ride. It’s not what I would call pretty, but for those of you that believe upright bars and a more neutral riding position are the way to go, this is a unique way to go.
Event Recap – 2017 AMCA Sunshine Chapter National Meet
David N attended last weekend’s AMCA National in New Smyrna Beach, and he was kind enough to share his thoughts for those of you that couldn’t make it out!
Movie Star – 2015 Ducati Hypermotard 821
Ducati is auctioning off one of the Hypermotards used in the remake of CHiPS, and all the proceeds are going to PATH (People Assisting The Homeless).
Ad Hoc #24 – 2016 Yamaha XSR700
David Gonzalez is one of my favorite builders out there right now, thanks to the bikes coming out of his shop called Ad Hoc Cafe Racers. His newest is #24, and it’s now available for sale. Ad Hoc already built a custom XSR in partnership with Yamaha, but I think this one is a better overall package.
Octavia – BMW G650 XChallenge Custom
View PostMini Hack – 1982 Suzuki FA50 with Sidecar
The seller of this little scoot built a homemade sidecar for his wife’s dog, who apparently loved to ride in it. It was ridden every summer for the last eight years but now the rig needs a new owner.
