Endurance Racer Mule – 2001 Victory V92SC Sport Cruiser

According to the seller, this bike was built by “Victory Engineering as a test mule which was also used in two 5 hour endurance races in Brainerd, Minnesota.” I was quite surprised to hear this and called a friend who worked for Polaris (Victory’s parent company) at the time – he confirmed that this is legit and that the seller has done some impressive work over the years!

Said seller is Todd Chamberlin, who built this as a bit of a parts-bin special and though th ebike was technically owned by Polaris, they gifted it to him as a thank you after he left. Todd had a development shop called Sonic Moto, which was featured in this story on Rides and Culture.

The V92SC was the second model that Victory released (after the original V92 cruiser) and it got a revised airbox, specific exhaust, and sportier suspension, brakes, wheels, and tires. I can tell you about other stock characteristics but they likely don’t apply to this custom machine, whch features a Ducati 916 front fairing, some sportbike tail that I can’t identify, a custom exhaust with D&D silencer, Brembo brakes…and plenty more. I can’t help but notice that it’s street legal – this would make for a fun and different pavement pounder!
