The BMW R100GSPD (PD stands for Paris-Dakar) is my favorite of the dual-sporting BMW’s. This specific example (ignoring the seat which I could do without) is one of the best I’ve seen, thanks to the history provided by the original owner. Go directly to his own page on this bike and tell me that you’re not inspired!

BMW R100GSPD - Right Side

The GS never was about speed – the 1000cc boxer yields just 60 horsepower, though the torque numbers were good. It’s heavy, but it’s reliable and easy to maintain. For more information about the bike (and an explanation of why this lumbering beast was so successful), head on over to Cifu Motorsports.

BMW R100GSPD - Front Left

This specific BMW R100GSPD (VIN: WB1047909L61) has a healthy 75,828 miles but has been well maintained. It’s in great shape, and the only thing that’s been changed from stock is the seat cover and the addition of a spotlight/fat foot pegs. Everything works, and the speedometer was recalibrated once in the past.
