1976 Bandit9 Ava

In Custom, Japan by AbhiLeave a Comment

Based out of Southeast Asia, Bandit9 is run by Daryl Villanueva. He offers a series of customs – all of which are built in production runs of 9. The Eve was their first eye-catching model. It got picked up by all the usual news sources, and Bandit9 has responded by offering a variety of Eve models in addition to completely new designs. This is the Ava – MSRP (including shipping to the US) was $10,950 and the bikes sold out fairly quickly.

In this interview with Return of the Cafe Racers, Daryl notes that the original frame comes from a Honda Supersport 125, and that the “wheels and the engine are the only things that haven’t been altered.” Bandit’s site is currently in a holding pattern, though it looks like they may be coming out with a new design soon.

The seller of this example (VIN: CD502112632) says it was imported in January of 2016 and that he’s kept it on display in his house during his ownership. This may be because he tried to register it in the state of TN and the DMV would not, so make sure your DMV will be OK with it. The seller also notes that the tank and carbs will need to be cleaned if you want to ride it.
