1988 Honda NX650 Dominator

I’m a big fan of the Honda NX650, known as the Dominator in certain non-US markets. In fact, I bought myself a beater example of the breed to learn how to ride in the dirt with, and it was the first bike that I sold through this site (feels like so long ago).

So here are the basics – the Dommie is a rare dual-sport 650cc single cylinder thumper that was only imported to the US for 2 years (between 1988-1989.) The specs include a 44 horsepower engine, 5 speed transmission, and a dry weight of 370 pounds. The engine was from the XR650L, but you got unique plastics.

This specific Honda NX650 Dominator is said to be in good condition and it has just 10,000 miles. Normally when I see these bikes, the plastics are heavily scratched and the little windshield piece has vibrated off. Nice to see one that still looks good! In fact, this might actually be too nice to use for one of my dreams – modifying a Dominator to look like Andrew Greenland’s:
