Post Sale Update: sold for $10,600 after 39 bids on eBay in Laguna Beach, California.

In 1992, Ducati took their 900 Supersport and added several choice extras to create a limited edition called the Ducati Superlight – 953 examples were sold over 2 years.

The 900SL featured a 80 horsepower, two valve v-twin engine with the desmodromic valves that Ducati is known for. The 1992 Superlight was equipped with carbon fiber fenders, a solo seat, the numbered plaque, and lightweight 17″ Marvic/Akront composite wheels. For more information on the Superlight, check out this site dedicated to the model (as commenter Ray notes below, this site is from a European perspective so some details will be different from US models).

This example is #860 of the series and it has 19,082 miles on the odometer. The original owner was Guy Webster, and it then went Ducati restorer Ted Henry. The current owner acquired it in 2011 with just under 14k miles on the odometer. There’s just a few minor cosmetic issues, but overall it looks to be in excellent shape. Upgrades include a slightly tinted windshield and carbon fiber Arrow exhaust. You can find more photos here and/or check out this video to hear the Arrow exhaust:
