Post Sale Update: This SPO sold for $10,800 after 19 bids on eBay in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

The 888SPO seems to get less attention than the average limited edition Ducati, but values are definitely climbing up as riders are appreciating the wonder of a bike that won both the World Superbike and AMA Superbike championships in 1993. Just 390 were built between 1993 and 1994 (though the ’94 models were officially called the 888LTD).

The 888 produced 94 horsepower thanks to the iconic desmo valve V-Twin. Slight improvements contributed to a quarter mile time of 10.81 seconds on the way to a top speed of 157 miles per hour. Just keep your eyes peeled for head and base gasket leaks, and you should be fine.

This example (VIN: ZDM1HB7R4PB000521) has 18,474 miles. It was recently serviced at Ducpond, which included new belts, battery, fuel pump, fuel filter, coolant flush, and valve adjustment. There are Michelin Pilot Power RS tires with 200 miles, and several period upgrades – Fren Tubo brake/clutch lines, F1 carbon fiber exhaust, Yoyodyne clutch slave cylinder, Corbin seat, and Ohlins rear shock.
